This year, America is fully aware that now is the time to save the earth - save energy and save natural resources.

What are the efforts being made in the U.S. recently?

More and more ecological friendly products are being manufactured and promoted in all forms of media.

Big companies are setting up sister websites or web pages with exclusive contents on energy and earth saving tips.

The culmination of this campaign is the celebration of Earth Day that was held on April 22nd.

Pope Benedict XVI visited the US

I 've seen on TV the official welcome ceremony of President Bush and his wife Laura together with other officials, for Pope Benedict XVI. They sang a birthday song for his 81st birthday.

President Bush made a touching statement. It goes something like this " In this time when people advocate hate and war, the Pope is here to tell the world that God is Love."

I've never really seen the Pope up close on the tube. It gave me a feeling of revival in spirit...

One spectator said, "I am not a catholic but I want to see the Pope." It's like the enlightening that catholics have."
